Full Time - Job Description for Multicultural Director, Business Strategy and Operations
Responsibilities
Reporting to the VP, Multicultural Director, Business Strategy and Operations will have responsibility for developing, refining, supporting and managing a variety of operational functions, systems, tools and processes to measure and enable sustainable, scalable growth of the emerging multicultural focus in sports (specially soccer) portfolio/business. Additionally, s/he will have oversight of fact-based, strategic analysis of initiatives and opportunities that expand and grow Fusion Latina LLC projects. (i.e., identify/size opportunities, conduct financial analysis, and develop/contribute to frameworks and ideas for developing partnerships/relationships).
This person will be a critical member of the Direct-To-Consumer team working closely with the VP, Direct-To-Consumer Services and Digital and will partner with a wide variety of functional leaders include. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about delivering innovative customer-focused multicultural sports products, constantly measures progress, and engages in continuous learning and improvement.
Manage projects and processes across departments, functional areas and teams to deliver creative and efficient solutions across the Direct-to-Consumer Multicultural portfolio.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive business operations to increase retention, trial usage, conversion and engagement, campaigns acquisition and growth.
Partner with Research and Product teams to measure traffic and engagement -- use insights to inform product strategy, product features/enhancements and content to super serve multicultural audiences.
Work independently or lead a small team on initiatives including market and consumer assessments, competitive due diligence, studies to assess feasibility, value and financial impact of programming rights, and other opportunities to grow Fusion Latina.
Size and evaluate growth opportunities with a focus on expansion of content categories, international and multicultural territories, and rapidly growing or emerging Hispanic market segments.
Implement analytic and CRM tools as well as reporting/dashboards that efficiently measure KPIs and deliver insights
Communicate findings (supported by fact-based analysis) and insights effectively both verbally and in written form including authoring executive-ready presentations.
Continually and proactively evaluate and identify multicultural market trends and competitive threats.
Support overall strategy and long range planning.
Contribute to the building, mentorship and retention of an outstanding, high performing team.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required. MBA or other advanced degree a plus. Spanish is a must. Portuguese is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience working in sports or sports industry, consulting, strategic planning or business development, experience in sports and/or multicultural consumer intimacy businesses (i.e., Hispanic and sports (soccer) content and services, content distribution).
• A well-developed understanding of Hispanic consumer behaviors and usage patterns.
• Experience successfully working across levels and functional areas in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (i.e., technical, creative, and executive sports team).
• Experience managing small teams directly and influencing departments/teams indirectly.
• Experience building/overseeing business cases and simple financial models; ability to perform analysis on and uncover insights from data; ability to oversee projects of this nature but simultaneous willingness to roll up his/her sleeves and does the work him/herself.
• Ability to own a project independently start-to-finish and communicate up, down, and across thoroughly throughout scope of project.
• Strong understanding of digital/mobile/social media space and of relevant sports media properties (B/R and others); proven interest in the direction the space is heading.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States (Company willing to apply for work authorization permission)
• Must be 18 years or older
